March favourites 2016

Hello! I hope you're all well, are you on Easter holidays? Mine started this week, but it hasn't really felt like a holiday because it's basically just been revision, revision, revision, homework, homework. Today I am bringing you my March favourites, March is one of my favourite months as it's my birthday, my dad's birthday and a lot of my friends birthdays too, and it's also quite nice weather in March sometimes, and it's generally quite a nice month, it was Easter weekend this weekend! I love Easter, it's kind of the mark of Spring and a goodbye to Winter, and there's also chocolate involved so yum! Anyway, enough rambling, I'll just get on with it!

My first favourite is a candle that I have mentioned before, it's the Rose and Pomegranate scented candle from Debenhams, this smells amazing, and I have been burning it so much, when it runs out I will probably be buying a new one. It's even burning which pleases me so much, I hate when candles don't burn evenly. And just look at it, it's so aesthetically pleasing and it's just so lovely, so if you love candles and the scent of pomegranate then this candle is definitely for you.

The next thing on my list to talk to you about is a pair of pj bottoms, they're from tescos, they are just these white pyjama bottoms with blue flowers and a white frill at the bottom. Now, I'm really skinny and mine are in the size 8-10, so if you are wondering whether they'll fit and you're also quite slim then they probably will. Also, I'm sorry the pictures are the wrong way round, when I took them they were the proper way round but technology has turned them on their side.

Another one of my absolute favourite things this month is a make up brush, it's a mini Kabuki brush from H&M, it's so pretty, the bit you hold is a shiny rose gold and the actual brush is incredibly soft, it's so amazing, and although it should be used for bronzer, I use it for powder so I guess its a multi task brush? It's great for any newbie to makeup (like myself) and it was really cheap.

Okie dokes, moving on. My next favourite is a makeup bag, I have been taking this makeup bag into school for the past three months and it is a perfect size for school makeup, I stick a little mirror, blemish stick, lip balm, concealer, powder and blush in it and everything fits perfectly. It's from Bath and Body Works, it wasn't too expensive, the inside is a bright pink material, and as you can probably tell, the outside is glittery. Glitter does come off, meaning you may end up with glitter all over the inside of your school bag, like me, however it's really pretty and handy.

The next thing on my favourites list is a foundation powder from H&M, it gives amazing coverage and is very long lasting, and in the bottom comes a little sponge which I have used so it does look a little gross.

The last thing on my March favourites list is a lipstick from Maybelline, in the shade 140, Intense Pink. This is a beautiful, nude colour and it stays so well, I have been wearing it 24/7.

So, that is all for today, I shall be back soon with another post, goodbye!

My 14th Birthday Haul

Hello! First off, I hope your Sunday has been fabulous, mine's been alright, we have school on Sunday, and today I had History, Music, Science, English and Maths, I'm looking forward to tomorrow, I have French and PE, which are my favourite lessons.

So as some of you may know, I turned fourteen on March the fourteenth, last Monday and I wanted to do a birthday haul because my lovely friends and family got me some pretty amazing presents, so let's get on with it!

I'll start with presents from my friends, so from my lovely friend Eilisha I received a candle from Bath and Body Works that smells absolutely incredible and a copper necklace from H&M, so thank you so much Eilisha xx

Next, my friend Haya got me some lovely things, she got me a Bath and Body works shower gel, a lipgloss and two Barry M nail polishes, then my friend Jamila got me a Bath and Body Works iced blackberries nourishing hand cream, a Barry M lipgloss, and a Barry M lipstick. Then Baraah got me another Barry M lipgloss (the brighter pink one) and a Barry M lip laquer crayon. Maram got me a Barry M lipgloss again and a Barry M nail polish. My best friend Sophie then got me three Bath and Body Works candles and a cookie, and then my dad got me the mad about you body lotion from Bath and Body Works, which is in this picture.

From one of my best friends Daisy I received a beautiful shower gel, soap and body lotion set which smells amazing, so thanks so much Daisy x
From Hollie (Holixer the Elixer of love he he xx) I got a Bath and Body Works endless weekend set which smells incredible, so thanks Hols xx

The last wonderful, thoughtful thing I received from most of the people in my year group in my old school was a jar. It contains many messages from them, all saying lovely things, and I cried so much when I read them and I still cry now reading them. It was honestly one of the most sentimental, beautiful gifts I've ever received.

Moving on to the prezzies from my family, I got a four books, two reading, one notebook and one colouring book, I have already read the two reading books which were great, so thanks for those x
Then I got a few Bath and Body Works things, which you can see in the pictures. Also, I got two Maybelline lipsticks (one of which I paid for), iTunes gift voucher, three nail polishes and a candle that smells a-maz-ing!!! I have it burning right now and my got it smells so good!

Then of course, I got cards, which I will attach pictures of below. Also, ignore my school skirt in a couple of the pictures, it was in an above one and one below, I don't especially love it so yeah.

Then I bought two cupcakes (of course) and yeah.

That is it, I will see you soon my lovelies, toodlepip!
Big love,
A x

Welcome!

Hello!
Welcome to my blog, Life In A Laptop, where I will be posting blog posts about whatever I feel like, which could range from what to do at a sleepover to pancake recipes. My aim is just to review things for you, help you out in life and make you smile. I'm so excited to be sharing this blog with you, which I hope you'll like and if you do then you can always show your friends, and if you don't have any of those then I'm sure your cat will be interested! :-)

I'll tell you a bit about myself, my name is Alice, it's my birthday on Monday, I'll be 14 (yay?), and I'm from Birmingham in England but I live abroad, in the Middle East with my parents, I don't have any siblings but my best friend Sophie is always round so she's like my sister. I don't have any pets as both my dad and I are allergic to fluffy animals, which is a pain because I love kittens! Last week I moved schools, and my friends threw me a surprise leaving/early birthday party, which was absolutely lovely of them and I couldn't have asked for a nicer goodbye. I'm starting my IGCSEs in September, I'm doing eleven subjects, English Literature and English Language, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, Maths and Further Maths (when you're in set 1 you have to take two maths GCSEs, the first in year 10 and the second in year 11), Sociology, Geography, Computer Science and History, but I'm thinking of swapping Sociology for French. I also play the flute, I was going to take my Grade 4 in May, however my teacher has throat cancer so I'll be taking it in November, along with Grade 5 music theory and hopefully Grade 1 piano! I'm also a tea enthusiast, fangirl, daydreamer and occasional optimist. I was also a really cute toddler, so you can enjoy a picture of baby me:

It has been raining all day today, so much so that the roads have become rivers and the schools flooded, I fell over this morning in school and really hurt my leg. It's a shame though because tomorrow night my friends are supposed to be coming round and we're going camping in the garden, but due to the rain I think it'll be indoor camping!

As I live abroad I tend to travel a lot, the last holiday I went on was to Singapore in January/February, it was amazing and like the best week ever, though it did rain one day when we went to Sentosa and then my shoe decided to break, which was mildly disastrous but hey ho, we had a great time and I really want to go back.

Well, I'll see you shortly with another post, toodlepip!
