Simple banana ice cream ☆
Hello! Today I wanted to share with you a simple banana ice cream recipe, and the beauty of it is that you don't just have to use bananas, it works with any other fruit.
Ingredients:
Five thinly sliced bananas
A couple of splashes of milk
Desired toppings
Method:
Slice up your bananas and put them in the freezer for a minimum of six hours.
When you want your ice cream, take out the bananas, let them warm up for about five minutes and then blend them with a splash or two of milk until they have a creamy consistency. Top with your desired toppings and voila!
I hope you liked this, it's so simple and so yummy, perfect for summer as it's really cold and refreshing.

A-ma-zing chocolate brownies!!!!!!!
Hello
Hi
Aloha
Hey
Hiya
Ok, hi. Side note: I have the hiccups right now and they're really annoying me. Oh, it now appears they've gone. Yayyyy
It's also a Wednesday as I'm writing this, and I have a doctors appointment in six hours. What's everyone doing today?
Anyway, today, as promised, I have my favourite brownie recipe, so enjoy!
This recipe makes 25 heavenly chocolate brownies
Ingredients
375g sugar
275g butter
100g self raising flour
4 eggs
100g chocolate (chocolate chips works best for these)
75g cocoa powder
12x9 inch (30x23 cm) tin
Directions
Preheat your oven to 180 degrees celcius, butter the tin and line the bottom and sides with none stick baking parchment.
Measure all the ingredients into a large bowl and mix evenly until everything is blended. To make it easier for myself, I made sure all the chocolate was in squares. Spoon the mixture into the tin and make sure it is evenly spread.
Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until the brownies have a crusty top and a skewer comes out clean from the middle. To prevent them from burning, for the last 10 minutes I covered them with aluminium foil. Leave the brownies to cool in the tin then cut into squares.
Since my mum has a gluten intolerance I made two batches today, one gluten free and one ordinary, to make them gluten free I substituted the self raising flour for gluten free plain flour and added a quarter of a teaspoon of xanthem gum in.
Oh, side note, the reason the brownies look knobbly is because I put malteasers in them- would not recommend that, the second photo is a better representation of what they turn out like.
Enjoy!
Big love,

Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard- Book review
Hi! I realise that I always start my posts with hi or hello, and it's something I want to change because to be honest it's really annoying me. I hope you're well, I'm well, I think. I'm writing this in advance so I can only assume that at the time I post this I will be well. As you're reading this, I'll be on holiday, yay! So, as you've probably guessed from the title, today is another book review! I love reading and so I thought that I would do more book recommendations! Sorry if you don't like reading ahaha.
Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard is a sort of dystopian, romantic fantasy book that had me hooked immediately. It's intense, gripping and thrilling right from the first chapter. It's about a seventeen year old, Mare Barrow, who lives in a world divided by blood- those with red blood and those with silver. She has red blood, destined to serve the Silvers and be conscripted and fight in the war. But that all changes. She gets called to the palace to take her place as a servant, and at the Queenestrial she displays powers that only Silvers have. She gets forced into a life she doesn't want to live, and she turns to the Scarlet Guard to try and help change the world as they know it.
Overall, this book is just amazing, I totally recommend it and I can't wait to review the next books in this series!

My historical romance: part 2 ❤
Hi! Today I'm doing part 2 to my historical romance, so I hope you like it!
Chapter 2
As I am engrossed in my thoughts, contently swinging on the swaying bench, soaking in the Suns Rays and enjoying the freshness of the air, a shadow obscures the light, and I know exactly who it is from the way they hold their body, the size of their feet, the pleasant smell of safety and home radiating off of them like my favourite perfume, and the way their
hands are leisurely hanging by their sides, fingernails so neatly filed and kept, unlike my own which I have gnawed almost down to the bed, causing my hands to become a shocking sight to anyone who even briefly glances at them. I shut my book with a snap, loosing the page I was on, and for a split second I thought I'd deterred him, yet somehow I managed to do quite the opposite, the corners of his mouth turned upwards into a smile and the dimples I used to obsess over appear in his cheeks, making him seem as handsome as ever. Silently, I pray that he won't move and sit next to me, and it seems that the Lord was on my side, as he hesitated and stood lingering. 'Elizabeth, listen', he starts, and I roll my eyes, staying in control of my own thoughts and not letting my emotions run ahead of me, so far ahead that I can't even see them anymore. 'I know you came here hoping to never see my face again, and I can understand that, but know that I still think of you very fondly and hope that we can rekindle our sparks.' I turn my head to the side, facing him straight on for the first time. 'Colin, it won't work, we've had so many chances and each time you've thrown them all away, like they were worthless shillings to you, like I was a worthless shilling to you.' Blinking back tears, I elegantly rise from my seat and walk off, my hands shaking ferociously and my heart beating faster than a million miles an hour.
Furiously, I kick a pine cone at the wall, it shatters at impact and makes me feel slightly better. My ears pick up the sound of footsteps hurrying towards me again, and so I angrily turn round, expecting Colin to be begging for forgiveness, however my eyes are met with the surprising sight of my plump, flustered maid, Lila, approaching me with a look of concern on her face. 'My dear Elizabeth, your sister has sent a letter to you, she says that she is...' Lila delves into her pockets and pulls out a letter, written in small, loopy cursive, the unmistakable handwriting of my eccentric younger sister, Bethany. 'She says that she is "looking forward to seeing you, as she will be visiting on the next Sunday coming and expects to stay for no less than a week".' I fiddle with the fraying hems of my lace gloves, glowering at my sister's nerve yet trying to keep myself together. 'She also mentions that she has acquired a male friend, miss.' Angrily, I look up, my face mirroring the disapproval on Lila's own round face, she fidgets awkwardly and I come back to my senses. I sigh and shake my head, with all that is taking place at the moment it seems a most inconvenient time for my sister to visit, and my hesitation to reach out to her when our mother died will surely be raised by her, and I will be faced with too many questions to answer in such a short time slot. 'Lila, I think some tea and scones are in order, I will be in my chamber, can you bring them up?' Lila nods, nothing is too much for her, she never seems to be overwhelmed or unnerved by situations like these. 'Certainly miss, right away, I'll see you there.' She curtsies clumsily and scuttles away to the kitchens, whilst I make my way down the garden path to the patio, which I cross and pull open the doors to the sitting room. My eyes take in the familiar sight of the overly floral furniture, so bright and plush it seems blinding, my nostrils sense the smell of dying fire embers and ash, and of the scented flowers resting in the vase, blending in with the rest of the room. Listening carefully, I can hear the soft padding of footsteps and voices echoing below me, the staff in the kitchen and their quarters, and I can vaguely make out the sound of my father's steady breathing in the adjoining room, at least I know he is still alive.
My heels click on the wooden floors as I head to my chamber, the only place where I can escape the melancholy madness that fills these four walls and in-prisons us like wild animals, and wanders the corridors and hallways, a prominent character often felt yet never seen. The house may as well be a mental asylum, the sadness and madness our keepers, and us the patients who have an incurable case of worry and sorrow, threatening to tip us over the edge.
That's chapter two, and again, it's short but I hope you liked it anyway!

Torn: book two of the Trylle series review
Hi!
So there's currently 24 hours and 4 minutes until I fly (yes, I'm counting) and I'm so damn excited to go on holiday!!
And I'm also so bad at being organised, I haven't packed anything yet, and this post is way overdue, I should've written it at least six weeks ago.
Hey ho.
That's life. Oh, and by the way, past Alice (June the 30th Alice) has sinusitis, so flying is going to be absolute hell. And if you were wondering, I'm not usually ill every five minutes, I just can't seem to shake this off, and I'm hoping that it doesn't lead to heart problems in the future, as my grandad had a sore throat once and it lead to hundreds of heart problems.
On with the review.
So in the second book we are introduced to a new character, Loki, who not only steals Wendy's heart, but mine too. We get to watch Wendy's character develop and see her make sacrifices for her Kingdom, and we learn about the Vittra kingdom, and the decades old quarrel between them and the Trylle. We also get to see Wendy and Matt's sibling reltoonship grow, Wendy and Finn's relationship crumble, and Wendy and Elora's mother-daughter relationship bloom. Each character has personal things to overcome to come together in this book, and it's honestly worth the buy.

Photography series: black and white
Hi! Today I just wanted to do a post with some black and white photos because I feel that black and white photos are really effective and I just really like them, they capture moments and make them seem even more surreal.
I had some other black and white photos, but they somehow seem to have gone missing in my camera roll :(
Hope you enjoyed anyway

Favourite youtubers ♡
Hi! Today I wanted to talk you through my favourite youtubers, because I've been loving a lot of smaller youtubers lately, and I've also found a lot of youtubers that I really enjoy watching. I'm also scheduling this post for over summer (well duh) and I feel so technical doing it, which I'm not but it makes me feel it. Again, as I'm writing this I'm off school for the third day in a row, feeling super ill. I did make banana ice cream yesterday though, following the Deliciously Ella recipe in her cookbook, which was fun, so I'll probably have that later. Ok I've just finished my coughing fit now, so let's get on with the post.
My possible all time favourite youtuber (I'm not sure, I love them all) is Eve Bennett (https://www.youtube.com/user/evebennettx), she's so down to earth and absolutely hilarious, and her personality really shows through the camera and her videos are amazing, I could watch them all day.
Next, I'll be telling you about Alix, from I Covet Thee. I Covet Thee (https://www.youtube.com/user/icovetthee) makes stunning videos, they are absolutely impeccable quality, they are flawlessly filmed and overall they're absolutely amazing and I love her videos so much.
Moving on, my next favourite is Suzie from Hello October (https://www.youtube.com/user/HelloOctoberxo), I only recently started getting into her videos, but I think that they are wonderful, her personality really shines through and her editing is like goals.
Ok, the next youtuber is absolutely amazing and may possibly be my favourite out of all of them, its Anastasia, from Floral Princess (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwR-g7XxcLxjYVTS5qncFhg) , I have been watching her videos for about a year and a half now, I love her personality and editing and her style of videos.
Of course, I then love love love Dan & Phil (https://www.youtube.com/user/danisnotonfire & https://www.youtube.com/user/AmazingPhil), they are just life and my everything goals. Dan's internet support groups give me life and they are absolutely hilarious, people send in some weird things. Phil is just amazing (see what I did there) and he's so funny and his awkward stories crack me up every time.
I also really like Meg says (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOTKYFfRMaLj4n-QPBGWzDg), her video on tips on how to start a blog is really helpful, and I love her more chatty videos too. She definitely deserves more subscribers, and I've been watching her videos since September.
A person I recently started watching is Freddy My Love (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFKHiDLbWZQYh9mHJKh55ig), I really like her videos, I think she has a really nice channel and I just really like watching her videos.
And finally, the last youtuber is Gabby, from Gabriella and Gabriella Lindley (https://www.youtube.com/user/PlanetGabb). Now personally, I prefer her vlog channel, but that's just because I really like chatty videos. She daily vlogged all through April and it was the best month ever. She really makes me laugh and her skin is so flawless and she's so pretty it's unreal. I also really like how her videos are down to earth and she doesn't try to especially glam up her life and lead everyone to think that she's living a perfect, idyllic life, instead she just tells it how it is and that's something I really like.
Right, that is all from me today, enjoy your week and I'll see you soon! As far as I know, there will be a post on the 21st of July, because I wrote and scheduled one but I don't know if there will be another one up before that.
Big love,
Alice x

Switched- Book one of the Trylle series review
Hello! I hope you're all ok, I'm ok, I wrote this post in April and I scheduled it to go up, look at me being all technical! Also, this post doesn't have any photos because I was honestly not bothered to take photos and my memory card for my camera doesn't have any storage left either. Sorry about that! If you know where to get cheap memory cards for cameras then please leave a comment, I'm struggling to find any and my mum's credit card has been blocked so I can't get one off amazon.
I had mixed opinions about this book, I basically only bought it because it was cheap, and I wasn't sure if I'd really like it. Turns out, I did. I read this in two days, it was so hard to put down! The plot revolves around this character, Wendy Everly, who lives an ordinary life, then one day her life is turned upside down when she's told she's a princess of the Trylles, and so she leaves her life and family and is taken to be the princess of this other 'world'. Her mother is the Queen (obvs) and she has the power to paint the future, so she sees what's coming, she doesn't have a clue when or why, but she paints it. Wendy and her tracker (the person who comes to get her) are romantically involved, however her mother forbids her from dating him because he's too lowly ranked for her. I don't want to give too much away, so you'll have to read the book to get what I'm on about.
I would recommend it, it is very good and I do think it's worth it, the book is stunningly written and it deserves more attention. It's by Amanda Hocking and it's called Switched. I bought the book in a trilogy with Torn and Ascend, I'm halfway through Torn (as of April 16th) and I'm really enjoying it :)
Right, there is that relatively short post, I don't know why it's so short, if I'm honest! I hope you liked it, byeeee
